Ulrika Trail 2.3 km
The Ulrika Trail runs through the church landscape of Utsjoki and a nationally significant cultural environment. Information boards can be found next to the Church Huts (Kirkkotuvat) and the lower parking lot of Utsjoki Church (about 5 km south of the Utsjoki village along road No. 4).
The trail begins from the Crurch Huts, passing through the old sacristy and leading to the old marketplace. From there, you can take a shorter route or walk around the current cemetery. The route then returns along the old cemetery to the church. From the church, you can also walk up to the church platform along the former postal route. This is the turning point.
The route is marked with colorful posts. The path from the church to the current cemetery is accessible and suitable for both wheelchair users and those with strollers.
The church, parsonage, its yard, the church huts, the sacristy of St. Ulrika with its cemetery, and the marketplace are protected by the Finnish Heritage Agency. The Ulrika Trail, constructed by the The church hut association (Utsjoen kirkkotupayhdistys) also tells the story of Sámi architecture and cultural history.
